Forex Conquered: High Probability Systems and Strategies for Active Traders by John Person

By Lawrence

Summary: A book on “high probability systems” for use with forex markets. The components for the systems are discussed in general with no specifics. I am disappointed by the fact that the trading systems are not disclosed. This book is not quite what I expected from a well respected trader.

Review

The book starts with an introduction to forex trading and reasons why trading forex is in fashion. A short discussion of trading forex vs. futures is included. Not much different from materials readily available from the internet.

The discussion on using MACD, Stochastic, Pivots, etc. is on the weak side as no exact rules or materials are presented to support his point of view. The title of the book tells the readers that it is a book on trading systems and after two-third of the book is consumed there is no trading system yet. If the edge discussed for each tool is accompanied by exact rules with supporting statistics the information provided will be much more useful.

For the trading systems presented, there is no rules to be found. It is more like a showroom presentation of a model suite to a condominium. You see the performance statistics, equity curves, etc. but no actual rules. I am not sure if the systems are for sale separately.

The CD coming with the book provides “calculators” on price levels that are readily available on the internet.

I cannot recommend this book.
